This decontamination process is imperative if the windshield bonding is to last. The thermoformed packaging produces a chemical reaction on your windscreen, making it difficult to bond without a decontamination step before bonding. Thermoforming is carried out under a source of heat, which causes an excess of silicone on the surface, preventing the windshield bonding from adhering properly. Our sponges are designed to clean surfaces contaminated by silicone in the world of car window replacement. Clean the glass with our PB-1349 wipes, then apply the DEC-50 decontamination sponge to the glass to remove traces of silicone, repeat the operation several times if necessary, then clean with our 768 glass cleaner, then wipe with our micro-carbon.
