Effectively protecting the windshield bay during cutting has long been a challenge for technicians. Traditional methods, such as inserting a protective shield between the glass and the bay, are often ineffective against the repeated vibrations and impacts of electric or pneumatic tools. These tools can displace or damage the protective shield, exposing the paint to the risk of damage.
This system of metal strips covered with protective tape has been specially designed to address this problem. Unlike conventional metal strips, these offer increased resistance to downward pressure, allowing them to remain in place throughout the entire operation.
The metal strips are available in four different lengths to suit all types of vehicles, including recent models without seals around the windows:

Flexible and durable, they can be bent to fit the shapes and angles of the window, while absorbing vibrations from the tools used.
Note: after prolonged use, the protective coating may wear. It is therefore advisable to check the condition of the strips regularly and replace them if necessary to ensure optimal protection.
To ensure optimal support, we recommend using at least 4 trim retainers (REF-FRE-080-P) during use. These retainers ensure that the strips properly absorb friction and impacts associated with the use of vibrating or rotating blades.
